Meet DJ Jenny — The Jazzy Lady
DJ Jenny, better known as Jazzy Lady, brings experience, personality and a genuine love of great music to Love Soul Radio London.
A lifelong lover of sport and a former athlete, Jenny still keeps herself active with regular running and trips to the gym. But music has always been another major passion. A keen collector of fine grooves, her musical education began early, heavily influenced by her brothers’ record collections and a fascination with discovering great records.
That enthusiasm has developed into a wonderfully broad musical taste. Tune into Good Vibrations and you could hear soul, funk, boogie, disco, reggae, Motown, Philly and plenty more besides. Expect a variety of genres all under one roof — with Jenny, you never quite know what you're going to get next, and that's very much part of the appeal.
Her experience of broadcasting and playing out live really comes through in her shows. Jenny understands how to build a set, change the mood and keep things flowing naturally. She’s equally comfortable behind a radio microphone as she is behind the decks in front of a dancefloor.
And she certainly knows how to work one of those. Jenny teamed up with Neil Greaves at Soul Fiesta in Spain, where Jazzy & Greavsie blew the roof off with a blinding dancehall reggae set — two DJs pushing all the right buttons and keeping the floor moving.
Jenny also loves digging a little deeper into the music. You'll often hear a special tribute show, whether she's celebrating the legends of Philadelphia soul, taking a journey through Motown, or shining the spotlight on a particular record label and the artists and recordings that helped make it special.
But there's another ingredient that makes Jenny's radio so engaging.
She brings that personal touch to broadcasting that listeners adore. It could be a story about taking her cat to the vet, something that's happened during her week, or an update on her latest dietary plans — which can sometimes provide almost as much entertainment as the records!
It's warm, spontaneous and genuine. Jenny has a knack for making you feel as though you're sitting across the table having a conversation with an old friend. That connection between presenter, music and listener is at the heart of what she does.
