Growing up in Boston, MA in the early 60s, my passion for soul music was ignited at the young age of 15 when I first heard the soulful crooning of Al Green in his classic track "Back Up Train." That moment marked the beginning of a lifelong love affair with soul music that has spanned over four decades and is still going strong today.
As an avid collector and former club DJ, I have had the privilege of immersing myself in the rich tapestry of soul music, discovering hidden gems and lesser-known ballads that speak to the depths of the soul. The magic of a soul ballad lies in its ability to transport you to another world, evoke emotions, and make you feel truly alive.

Rodney, a DJ since age 15, started in youth clubs in Bristol and had a passion for music. He progressed to playing in clubs, bars, and doing mobile discos for events.
He then joined local radio stations like Gloucester FM and Soultrain Radio before co-founding Base Radio.
Rodney's music style includes classics, 21st century hits, retro 80s, soul, funk, RnB, and music from the 70s to 00s. With his diverse music selection, Rodney aims to keep listeners engaged and entertained.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to share my love for soul, jazz, funk, boogie, northern, and reggae music at various clubs, events, and venues. I've built up many vinyl records from these amazing genres. In the 80s, I ventured into radio, and some of you may remember me from LWR and TKO. Later, I joined Choice FM 96.9 in London, where I had an incredible 13-year run! After that, I had the privilege of co-presenting on Sky TV for a while. Recently, I bid farewell to London Music Radio after four fantastic years. But fear not, my friends! I'm super excited to bring you the "Soul Surfin Show" on Love Soul Radio London! Get ready for an eclectic mix of tunes I've selected just for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
